This is an overview of Native American pottery that I acquired in the Southwest, New Mexico.
I found examples of Zia pottery,
Hopi pottery,
beautiful Acoma Indian pottery
and even a huge Navajo Dine pottery olla.
They will be traveling back to Florida to my antiques Mall at the end of the summer.

This rare button board is part of an extensive collection I acquired from a lady who was part of the national button collectors Society back in the 60s. She began collecting in 1940s. This particular board is one of my favorites because I see that it has many very unique buttons. They are all one-of-a-kind, handmade buttons!
There are several with inlaid turquoise and coral including a Thunderbird ,Eagle, a swan, a Hogan, and others. There are also worked metal buttons that look like a conchos that were used on belts. Two favorites are the native American Indian pottery buttons. One is a Zia RoadRunner which is the state bird and the other is also made by the Zia Pueblo in the clouds and rain pattern. We wouldn't want to forget the adorable hand beaded buttons that run down the center of this board One has a little girl, the other a butterfly, the other a face that looks like it could be a God and the last is the rolling logs symbol. Then there are more worked metal buttons and lastly a rare & wonderful hand cut and decorated silver Eagle Thunderbird. Each is a piece of art and history in itself. Now they are grouped together on this button board. As a special treasure she has most of the buttons labeled on the back as to what they are and where they came from. Great historical documentation!
