ANTIQUE BRONZE, FRENCH SCULPTURE STATUE OF A CHILD

This is a fine 19th century antique French bronze sculpture of a young girl playing the classic children's game of blind man's bluff. The statute was designed by sculptor Nicholas Lecorney who was active between 1880 in 1900. It is signed by the sculptor. It is quite large measuring approximately 27 1/2 inches tall. Nicholas Lecorney specialized in sculptures of young children and was exceptional at capturing their expressions. 
This piece is an incredible example of his abilities in this area. The happy innocence of her gently blindfolded face is beautiful. This bronze statue has no damage and is a wonderful depiction of childhood charm.
