L'EPEE PARIS CRYSTAL REGULATOR CLOCK, MINT, ORIGINAL BOX & PAPERS

L’Epée Paris Crystal Regulator Clock

This Paris Crystal regulator clock is in fabulous running condition!  It features hand polished brass with beveled glass plates and beautiful black Italian marble at the top and base.  Made by one of the most esteemed clockmakers in the world, L'Epee was first established in 1839.
This clock was made around 1984.  Respecting closely the long-time tradition, each part of this L’Epée clock was made by hand, by experienced clockmakers. Only top class materials were used. This clock is equipped with a beautiful 8 day mechanical movement which can be viewed through the glass sides and back. The pendulum is a true mercury pendulum. The white dial is porcelain and has classic black Roman numerals designating the hour. It strikes once at the half hour and the appropriate number of times at the hour.  Both the dial and the movement are signed "L'Epee". Overal, this regulator measures approximately 11 1/4 inches tall. The timeless classic styling makes this crystal regulator perfectly suited for a Victorian home or Belle Époque interior and would even look great in a Modern interior.  It has been very well cared for and comes with the original brass key, the original box including the logo cardboard sleeve, the original folder with Company brochure, another small booklet with the warranty and instructions for use and a 1984 pricelist showing this model to be one of the more expensive offerings with a printed retail price of $2000 that was increased in pencil to $2450.  That was 30 years ago!  The condition of this clock is very good with only a few small black specs or surface scratches on the brass which could be polished out since it is solid. And the back door doesn't quite close.  I would say this clock is at least a nine on a scale from 1 to 10.
A L’Epée Clock contains up to 300 parts in solid brass or steel, requiring 2000 manufacturing processes. No wonder, the clockmakers are highly qualified craftsmen producing outstanding masterpieces of clockmaking art!  This is as good as it gets at a fraction of today's price!   Buy it as a gift for a loved one or treat yourself to a real treasure!
