ANTIQUE GERMAN MUNICH FINE CAR & POLYCHROME WOOD FIGURES

This is a beautiful and unusual set off 10 exuberant figures hand carved from wood. 

They were also hand-painted in polychrome and gilt. 

These extraordinary dancers were made in Germany (most likely Munich ) around 1920 - 1940. 

 Their condition is excellent! They have obviously been loved and treasured.

 If you are looking for a truly exceptional set of figures that are heirloom quality these would fit the bill.  They are the finest woodcarvings we have seen.  

In German they are called Moriskentanzer which were Moorish dancers.  Their costumes are ones which would have been worn in the late 1400s or early 1500s.  

These fabulous woodcarvings measure about 9 1/2 inches tall at the highest.
